        Fargin CORKSUCKERS!

Honda sure did -- Goldwings go 3x or 4x as far with the same basic engine design.

I was a loyal Subaru guy till I tried to keep ONE past 100k miles.

Now, I buy Hondas and hope Subaru is the next Fukushima.
Hope you don't have a Honda with the 1.5T in it. Lots of unhappy owners; the oil dilution is killing those motors. Honda's lack of a fix is also turning many off. This is a major problem for Honda, yet they don't seem to be doing much about it.

        • '18 Civic Si I've had for 15 months has been perfect. It's a terrific commuter and avg well over 36mpg combined. Usually it's around 39-40 if its just the commute which is just over 50 miles on country highways and backroads.

I'll also add that I have had a lot of experience with Subaru mfg. along with a couple others, and can say they do a phenomenal job. They've built a large number of Toyota Camrys in the same plant in Lafayette, IN and also had an outstanding quality record.

          • My aunt is on her second Subaru Outback. The first one lasted 300,000 miles living in Montana. Half of those miles were living in no where, militia man, we are our own sovereign country land. The closest restaurant was 20 minutes on a dirt road to Canada and operated out of someone's house. You literally sat in their dining room right next to their kitchen. The closest gas station/dry goods/"grocery store"/casino was 45 minutes down the same dirt road only in the opposite direction. I Shiite you not it had actual hitching posts and water troughs out front for customers' horses. That damn car was used and abused and never had a lick of problems beyond standard maintenance. The other 150,000 miles was spent in civilized Montana. When they sold out and moved to California she traded it in on another Subaru Outback.

For the record their first house was my idea of heaven. The house sat on top of a hill side overlooking a 20 acre prairie surround by pine trees and a 30 yard wide river cutting just beyond the first strip of trees, all back dropped by snow capped mountains. I was only there twice but a little part of me died when they sold it.

            • Just have to realize ALL manufactures have their issues. Just because you had a car from brand x and it had issues, doesn’t mean all brand x had issues. And just because you now have brand y and have no issues. Doesn’t mean everyone who has brand y doesn’t have issues.

              Same with motorcycles.

Either you're lucky or it hasn't hit you yet. Google Honda/oil dilution/1.5 turbo. You'll see there are a lot of issues, and Honda is doing jack schitt about it.

                • Honda is doing an ECU reprogram and oil change for CRV's; starting with Canada, Maine, MN, Wisconsin, Michigan. Sounds like it will eventually get rolled out to all states. The issue is worse in cold weather and to come extent is an issue in all direct injected vehicles. My mom (in MN) had her 1.5T CRV done last week.

I have not had an issue with my 2016 1.5T Civic, and the issue seems less common in Civics.

                  • The oil dilution was so bad that my FIL sued Honda. Honda ended up buying his 2017 CRV (w/ the 1.5T) back for full purchase price & then $ome.

                    • My father has a 1.6Turbo Diesel CRV and that thing is slow. I can't imagine the 1.5T.

                      • Yeah all these newer mpg cars are slow. This subaru is one of the slowest in its catagory. Although not as slow as my 1L eco boost focus and it’s even a manual lol.

Although the almost 40mpg in both of them is nicer than my 17mpg average in my small penis truck.

That’s incredible out of that SI. Here’s an engineering explained video about how Honda hit a homerun with the Type R and how the motor is A+. It’s a good watch

But damn, that high of MPG from the SI?! Regular gas too?

                              • That is quite impressive, as it has 50hp more than the impreza and 75hp more than my focus and gets the same MPG.
