Wanted a pellet grill/smoker to replace my aging, falling apart gas grill but I couldn't talk myself into spending the cash on a good one, so for my birthday/our anniversary (a few days apart) last month my wife surprised me and bought me the one I wanted. A friend swore by his and cooks just about every meal on it, so after seeing it and sampling some food from it and her seeing the lust in my eyes she told herself I needed one. A Rec Teq RT-700 (the 'Bull'). It was a bit more $ than I could have talked myself into but this thing is an absolute tank, with a 6 year warrant on EVERYTHING and the customer service is top notch. I've already cooked everything from various kinds of chicken, various kinds of pork, burgers and brats/dogs, briskets, homemade pizzas and even breads and desserts...who needs an oven!!!You do not have permission to view this gallery.

I got the same grill that bradd did. On the same day! And not on purpose.
We love ours too.

Mentor Graphics Xpedition
Xpedition_Thumb-41A481CA.png
I'm in the process of starting a service bureau company doing PCB design work. I've been doing this kind of work as an employee/contractor for almost 20 years. A large defense contractor has been trying to hire me for the past 4 years, and we finally agreed that the best way to do this is for me to form a company and work as subcontractor for them. I've now gotten the company in place, gotten approval from the State Department for work on non-classified defense technology. This software is what this company and many other big tech companies use as their primary electronics design software tool.
The first job has been won, the work done, and the first invoice delivered today. It was a small, get-to-know-you kind of project. I got it done a month before their initial projected schedule. My work MO has always been light and fast (same way I like my motorcycles). I have been developing add-on software to work with the Mentor Graphics CAD tool for about 10 years now, which has increased my efficiency a lot.
I'll be looking for more customers. I need 3 or 4 good ones to keep the workload steady. I have a number of contacts from previous jobs at Honeywell, Raytheon, and BAE Systems I'll be getting in touch with.Patient zero.
Partly stabilized, partly curious.
Be your own man; don't be an owned man.
