  • Well, this big bad bike recently followed me home. Wife says we can keep it. 2006 Road Star Warrior, 4,100 miles, PCIII and a pipe and a K&N and dyno-tuned. Came with a 2nd heat-wrapped pipe that I'll probably sell. Also came with a Corbin and backrest that I put on after these pics—it'll be nice to take the kiddo to school next fall so she can be the cool kid.

It was nice to ride it home and be back on a bike for the first time in ~5 years. Was surprised how much I liked the windshield. Thought I'd part it out but I think I'll keep it. Now it has to sit for almost two weeks until I can get into an RMV and get plates.

    • Not sure why that photo popped up twice! Still getting the hang of the new OA, apparently.

              • Gobs of torque, but in many ways such a chill ride. Effortlessly tools along at 75mph at 2500 rpms or so. It is very much a kick back and enjoy the ride kind of bike, which is kind of where I am nowadays.

I'm curious about this, you are not the first person to say something like that. To me it doesn't feel much different than my FZ1 and it feels way less top heavy than the VStrom Dl1000 that I had.

                          • I’m 70, not overweight, ride bicycle frequently, not buff but better than average in physical fitness.

I owned simultaneously an FZ1 and an FJR. Loved both. Sold FJR because FOR ME the FJR was just too heavy, but only in garage or parking lot or 2 up. Loved the smooth awesome power, low rpm cruising, but ergos needed work. Weight too much for me. At that point, anyway, may be moving back that way.

A 200 pound lighter FJR is really what I need.

It'll be interesting to see how much I notice switching back and forth. I'm 51. 6ft, 185 . Both bikes have either bar risers or taller bars, the fz1 has dropped pegs.
